Reactivated CRYSTALIC Releases New Song
January 8, 2013"Scion", a brand new song from reactivated Finnish death metallers CRYSTALIC, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below.
After CRYSTALIC disbanded in late 2011 due to lineup problems, founding member Toni Tieaho decided to move on and started to play in other bands from Tampere. As time passed, Toni started to feel strongly that he should start composing his own material again. In the beginning of 2011, Toni and the keyboardist Felipe Munoz, who had played with CRYSTALIC before, formed an unnamed new project. Admittedly, at times the new material sounded very close to CRYSTALIC due to Toni's style of composing.
During 2012, the lineup was completed by drummer Janne Noponen, vocalist Marko Eskola and the original CRYSTALIC bassist Arto Tissari. In the early stages of collective songwriting process, it became clear to everyone involved, that CRYSTALIC would resurrect.
CRYSTALIC recorded its first new track in November 2012 at MSTR Studios with the band's longtime studio engineer Jussi Kulomaa. The chemistry within the band proved to be excellent during the recording sessions and the fresh lineup brought in some elements which took CRYSTALIC to a whole new level. Fast drumming, melodic keyboards, aggressive guitar riffs and melodic solos, versatile vocals and unique fretless bass lines can be heard on "Scion", which was recorded for the fans as a definitive statement: CRYSTALIC is back to stay.
CRYSTALIC is now actively working on the material for its third full-length album.
CRYSTALIC 2013 is:
Marko Eskola: Vocals
Toni Tieaho: Guitar
Artto Tissari: Bass
Felipe Muñoz: Keyboards
Janne Noponen: Drums
